Reno Day #3

Monday, February 18, 2013

Tonight I set out on a mission to find a paint color.

I did extensive research on Houzz this weekend and finally figured out what color family I wanted to look.  After my orange bathroom disaster, I refuse to paint anything in the orange/yellow spectrum.  My kitchen has red in it and my entire downstairs is a tannish/cream.

The only request my husband has is to paint a different shade than our guest room and our bathroom.  Which are both in the gray family.

I know these are horrible nighttime pictures, but this is the shade in our guest room.

(Remember that mirror I said was my favorite purchase-here it is!)

And here's a picture of the bathroom shade of grey.

(And the mirrors that made me fall in love with the house)

So...now I need your help.  Pretty, pretty please!!

I've made these pictures extra large so hopefully you can read the names.  I've also included a flash off and a flash on picture.

My husband has pretty much vetoed Nantucket Fog (top middle), Kentucky Haze (to the right of Nantucket Fog), or Yarmouth Blue (bottom left).  Too grey, he says.  Personally I think Forget Me Not (Top Left) is too beachy and Old Pickup Blue (middle left) is too babyish.  Which pretty much leaves Waterfall, June Month, and Woodlawn Valley Haze. I threw in Woodrow Wilson putty just because.

The more I look at these photos, the more I think one of these colors will win.

I think Lighthouse Shadows (middle) and Blue Porcelain (with the thumbtack) are too grey, also.

I really, really like High Noon (far left) and Lyndhurst Duchess Blue (second from right).

I am absolutely horrible making color decisions because I like pretty much every color.  Please give me your suggestions!! I can use all the help I can get!

I was proud of my husband for multi-tasking this evening.  While getting his input on paint colors, he also took the top off the desk.  I'm loving it more already and it's not even painted yet!

Remember that pretty piece of furniture I said came from my great grandparents (bought around 1915)?  Well, it has a new home in our half bath downstairs.

The half bath is so big and this has always been dead, wasted space.  I'm envisioning a beautiful runner and a vase of some kind.  Once I get the drawers cleaned up (new liner and some potpourii satchels) they will store all of my placemats, hand towels, and cloth napkins.

So happy this beautiful piece of furniture finally has a home!

I'm really looking forward to your paint input.  Please help me out!!

For what it's worth, my favorite is High Noon! What a fun but nerve-wracking decision!

I think I like Lighthouse Shadows the best. For what it's worth, my husband and I have Quiet Moments in our great room downstairs and EVERYONE asks about the color because it is so awesome! It's like a gray/green/blue - muted, but a little moody too.
